What is human capital?

The wealth of an organisation is determined by its collective capital. However, very seldomly do we see any trace of the human component on the balance sheet. Part of the problem might be with the fact that we often struggle to understand its monetary value. Raymond Noe indicated that the human capital component can contribute up to 35% of a company’s overall value. We are always fascinated by the responses we get when asking an executive team about their capital investment strategy. Most of the time, the investment process of monetary-related capital has been well devised, but more often this is not the case with the human capital strategy.

The Foundery is a collective of people-centric entrepreneurs who catalyse scalable entrepreneurial ventures.

How we do it

A dual approach best executes our mandate, based on both the alignment of entrepreneurial psychology as well as the crafting of complementary skills.

We train and develop new and existing entrepreneurs alongside our academic and enterprise development partners, based on three levels.

Phase 1:
I-Founder

Phase 2:
Pioneering

Phase 3:
Established

Phase 4:
Scaling

A one-month part-time investment program for all prospective entrepreneurs.

Development process during which the entrepreneur will be required to craft
and establish their own business.

A three-year consolidation phase during which the business will grow with the assistance of strategic partners.

Introduce the entrepreneur to a private equity investor market, to exponentially scale their business model for a sustainable future.
